Peepshow Workshop with Başak Özdoğan

Duration
3 Hours

Free admission.

24 August at 2 p.m.

Workshop language: Turkish

The workshop, led by stage designer and academic Başak Özdoğan, will explore Istanbul’s landscapes featured in the exhibition Istanbul as Far as the Eye Can See from a theatrical perspective. Drawing inspiration from the peepshows—or three-dimensional books—presented in the exhibition, participants will combine selected visuals from the works in the exhibition with details from photographs of Istanbul’s streets to create a paper-based stage using the peepshow-making technique. Participants will revisit Istanbul’s story through the silhouettes, plants, animals, boats, yalıs, cemeteries, senses, and colours in the exhibition, while creatively exploring the city’s changing identity through the lens of the exhibition experience.

The workshop will be held in Turkish.
